Evaluating our Learning Management System: RFP
Update September 2021
After extensive research and a rigorous RFP process, ODU will be replacing Blackboard with Canvas as our official Learning Management System (LMS) over the next year. Read more about the migration process here.
For over 20 years, Blackboard has served as the university's Learning Management System (LMS), enabling faculty and students to share online course content, assignments and exams. In order to deliver an exceptional experience well into the future, we are undertaking a review of other LMS products on the market.
We have issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) and formed an RFP evaluation committee comprised of faculty members, instructional designers and educational technologists. This committee will be responsible for reviewing, evaluating, testing and ultimately recommending the LMS that will meet the academic and technical needs of ODU.
